Calibration of the newly built operational flow measurement in HPP Rożnów

12/01/2024

On 26th – 27th November 2024, the calibration of the newly built operational flow measurement at the unit TG3 of HPP Rożnów (Poland) was carried out in cooperation with the Polish company Madex.

The Gibson method (pressure-time method) was chosen as the only one feasible method in HPP’s conditions for calibration of the operational measurement, i.e. Winter-Kennedy method (record of pressure difference on turbine spiral case).

Although measurement conditions were difficult (curved penstock with graduated cross-section changes, only shorter measuring section for Gibson method as well as not tight enough emergency table in penstock), the calibration can be considered as very successful.
